Position Title: Applications-Systems Administrator I

Department: Business Intelligence

Position Reports to: Director of Application Development BI & Reporting

Position Supervises: No Direct Reports.

Position Summary

The Applications-Systems Administrator I’s role is to provide technical and administrative support by monitoring and maintaining the operation of the company’s Application infrastructure. They work directly with department administrators for identification, prioritization, and resolution of the company vendor’s installations, upgrades, and maintenance. Contribute to problem resolutions by giving a hands-on and remote support to department administrators and vendors at the server and application level. They will work with their peers to train and learn knowledge, valuable to succeed and improve at becoming an Application/System Administrator.

Duties And Responsibilities

Focus on working directly with department administrators in coordinating, and implementing changes, installs, and troubleshooting.
Establish, build, and maintain rapport with the business unit’s application administrators to facilitate upgrades and improvement.
Maintain Application versioning by maintaining enterprise versioning standards.
Coordinate with application vendors to upgrade, install, troubleshoot, or gather data/information.
Work closely with application development teams and vendors to tune and troubleshoot applications.
Implements application updates to include upgrades, patches, and new releases on the server level, including ensuring applications are maintaining company, regulator, and auditor compliance.
Travel to core/business unit application conferences to maintain current software features and offerings.
Implement testing plans to verify logic of new or upgraded applications, ensuring systems will operate correctly in current and future environments.
Setup Active directory accounts and/or groups such as but not limited to administrator accounts, service accounts, and groups when it relates to application implementation.
Implement directory permissions on server for end users that fall within the parameters of compliance guidelines but still allow applications to function properly and efficiently.
Operate and knowledge of VMWare and SQL with the ability to backup, restore, and perform maintenance of application servers.
Provide documentation and maintain application system documentation.
Develop expertise to train staff on new and/or differing application technologies.
Work closely with Tech Support to make sure they are trained with current methods of software implementation to ensure company application conformity.
Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of operating systems and application software being used to provide high levels of support to users.

Education, Certification, License And Experience

College or University degree in Computer Science or related field and/or 4 years or related experience. Certifications in Microsoft Operating Systems and or 4 years equivalent work experience with systems.
Certified Microsoft 2016/2019 Server Administration preferred.
Minimum four (2) years’ experience within Information Technology; Deep-seated experience with desktop/server operating systems, including Windows Server 2016/2019 and Windows 10 Enterprise; Extensive application support experience with Microsoft Operating systems.
Experience Networking, Operating Systems, and Backup/Restore procedures.
Experience in software installations and troubleshooting.

Skills And Knowledge

Some knowledge of VMWare, Exchange, Active Directory, and SQL.
Citrix, Cisco VOIP, Hyper-V, and Cohesity preferred but not needed.
Strong understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
Good written and oral communications, strong documentation skills.
Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required.
Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language to non-technical staff and end users.
Keen attention to detail. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure and high-paced environment.
Responsible for knowing and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines, as detailed in policies that include but are not limited to Bank Secrecy Act and other applicable anti-money-laundering rules, Right to Financial Privacy, Fair Lending, Community Reinvestment Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and other laws and regulations as they pertain to the position.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak or hear, stand or sit for long periods of time, open filing cabinets, walk, stoop or bend, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and complete tasks requiring manual dexterity. Ability to drive a vehicle for travel is required for the position.
