Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Support Specialist to join our IT department. This role combines advanced desktop support and system administration responsibilities to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a robust technical background, superior problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing top-tier user support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Advanced Desktop Support:

Provide expert-level troubleshooting and technical support for complex hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
Assist users with setup, configuration, and maintenance of workstations, ensuring optimal performance and user satisfaction.
Manage and resolve escalated technical issues, working with other IT teams when necessary.
Perform regular maintenance, updates, and patches on user devices to ensure security and efficiency.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for support processes, procedures, and issue resolution.

System Administration:

Manage and maintain server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and updates of server hardware and software.
Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure system reliability and performance.
Administer Active Directory, Group Policies, and user account management.
Oversee backup and recovery operations, ensuring data integrity and availability.
Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
Collaborate with other IT team members to design and implement IT projects and improvements.

User Support and Training:

Provide advanced training and guidance to end-users on best practices, software usage, and IT policies.
Develop and distribute user-friendly documentation and resources to aid in self-help and troubleshooting.
Conduct IT orientations for new employees and ongoing training sessions for current staff.

Project Management and Leadership:

Lead and participate in IT projects, ensuring timely completion and alignment with business objectives.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers for procurement, support, and maintenance of IT equipment and services.
Mentor and guide junior IT staff, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending and implementing improvements to the IT environment.

SKILL/EXPERIENCE/PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS:

Installing, upgrading, and repairing PC desktops, laptops, and printers. (Mac / OS X a plus)
Supporting, upgrading and troubleshooting Windows 10.
Active Directory: Experience administering Active Directory user accounts and groups.
Microsoft 365: User Adds/Changes, Email, Sharepoint, and Office Applications.
iOS and Android mobile devices. (Zebra Android Handheld Scanners a plus)
Supporting and troubleshooting basic network connectivity, WiFi, and VPN issues.
Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
Must have at least seven years of desktop support experience.
