IT Manager

The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the IT department at Gestalt Community Schools (GCS). The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring GCS’ technology infrastructure supports and aligns with its business objectives.

Reports to: Chief of Strategy and Operations

Salary: Employees at GCS are provided with a competitive salary. Our salaries are set through a lens of equity, and based on an individual’s skills, education, and years of experience relevant to the role. The salary range for this role is from $65K-$85K.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

IT Infrastructure Management

Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems, including servers, networks, computers, and other devices.
Ensure the IT infrastructure is secure and reliable.
Plan and execute technology upgrades and migrations when needed.

Vendor Management

Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers.
Monitor vendors to ensure that they’re offering the best possible service and value for business needs.

Technical Support

Provide technical support to end-users, using hardware, software and network-related issues.
Establish and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) for IT support services.
Implement and manage help desk and ticketing systems to track and resolve user issues timely and efficiently.
Provide training and development for Charter Management Office (CMO), School, and IT staff members to enhance skills and knowledge.

Strategic Planning

Collaborate cross-departmentally to align IT strategies with overall network objectives and goals.
Identify opportunities for technology innovation and process improvement to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness.

Budgeting and Cost Management

Prepare cost–benefit analyses when upgrades are necessary.
Adhere to the IT budget ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Monitor expenses, analyze variances and implement corrective actions when necessary.

Requirements

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
3-5 years of experience in IT management role; school experience is a plus
Strong technical expertise in IT systems, networking, and infrastructure.
Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
Project management skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Certifications (such as ITIL, CompTIA, or PMP) are a plus.
