Position Overview: Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies is seeking a dedicated and professional Reintegration Specialist. This role involves working with individuals with barriers to employment, particularly those involved with the criminal justice system, to help them achieve successful community employment. The Reintegration Specialist will educate and prepare program participants by delivering job readiness and retention instruction both pre and post-release from incarceration as well as with community based individuals with justice involvement, developing lesson plans, and providing comprehensive support services.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver job readiness and retention instruction in various formats to accommodate different learning styles, including going into correctional facilities to provide instruction.
Develop and implement interactive, hands-on lesson plans.
Assess participants' educational levels, abilities, and skills.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with participants, co-workers, supervisors, and community contacts.
Promote group and program rules to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
Coordinate support of the work readiness curriculum with other staff and community stakeholders.
Provide consistent and effective communication with team members and participants.
Establish support services plans for participants upon release, including intake, assessment, and goal planning.
Ensure compliance with project regulations, requirements, and performance outcomes.
Document each participant’s progress and maintain confidential files.
Assist participants in job search, placement, retention, and career development services.
Contact employers to assist participants in obtaining employment and present available incentives for hiring individuals with a criminal background.
Attend regular training to stay current with work readiness curriculum and trends.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree required.

Experience: Experience in providing services to disadvantaged populations with barriers to employment. Experience working with youth or young adults is helpful.

Computer Proficiency: Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft and Google programs.

Clearances: Must be able to obtain acceptable results for required background checks, including Act 151 Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania Criminal History Check, and Department of Human Services- FBI Fingerprints.

Other Requirements

Physical Demands:

Vision and hearing corrected to within normal limits.
Ability to perform light to medium-duty work, including occasional standing for up to 8 hours and lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
Willingness to work in correctional facilities.
