BASIC FUNCTION: The IT System Administrator’s role is to monitor and maintain software, servers, and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. This individual participates in the planning, implementation, deployment, server provisioning, installation and configuration, end user training, operations and maintenance of the business applications to ensure the configuration is consistent with company goals, policy and procedures, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Support the business application development throughout project lifecycle.
Monitors and analyzes server, application, network, and input/output device performance.
Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases.
Ensures the data integrity and security of enterprise data on host’s computers, multiple databases, and during data transfer in accordance to HIPAA compliance.
Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts.
Team tasks include regular security monitoring, fielding incoming service requests and managing assigned tickets, and participation in assisting tagging GRH’s equipment for inventory purposes.
Provides technical support and guidance to junior members of the team.
On-call availability as needed.
Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

3 years’ equivalent work experience in managing and maintaining a network environment.
Microsoft Certified Professional or A+ certification required.
Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience.
Extensive application support experience with all Microsoft products.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Participation in the on-call support rotation and must live within 30 minutes of Grand River Hospital District
Degree in the field of computer science preferred.

Salary Information

$27.00 - $39.10 Dependent on Experience
