The Perry County Development Corporation (PCDC) is an economic development organization located in Perry County, Indiana. The PCDC provides professional consulting services in the areas of community, workforce & economic development. The Vice President will assist the PCDC President & CEO in achieving the organization’s goals, with special emphasis on project management, community & workforce development. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with new business attraction activities including responding to requests for information, managing property and information databases and working with local stakeholders to develop incentives
Assist with business retention & expansion activities including developing and maintaining professional relationships with community partners (employers, local leaders, area educators), project management, etc.
Facilitate and lead the activities of the Perry County Learning Partnership
Serve as PCDC representative on Perry County College Success Coalition
Coordinate, plan and participate in workforce development initiatives (Tour of Opportunity, Manufacturing Day/Night, ASPIRE, etc.)
Assist with housing development, as assigned
Develop and maintain local networks to connect new residents or employers with housing options
Research and understand community needs and assist in developing strategic programs, services and resources
Serve as PCDC representative on the Perry County Mental Health Coalition
Represent PCDC on the Quality of Life Committee including planning, organizing and attending 3+ annual events
Work with the Indiana Small Business Development Center to refer local small businesses/entrepreneurs
Partner with Perry County Chamber of Commerce to promote local businesses, attend ribbon cuttings, etc.
Attend PCDC board and committee meetings
Serve on local and regional boards related to the mission of PCDC
Assist in preparation of annual budget
Assist in strategic planning
Continue to acquire skills and training in economic development through professional development
Support and promote the PCDC’s mission, vision, values and goals to internal and external stakeholders
Maintain confidentiality
Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g., community development, business management, business administration, communications, etc.)
Knowledge of and experience with economic development
Passion for community growth and development
Technology skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and GIS software
Excellent communication and professional skills
