We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Systems Engineer to join our client's team in Irving, Texas.

In this role, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s cloud-based and on-premises systems and infrastructure. They are a small organization where the IT team is managing multiple cross-functional projects. It's critical for this person to have similar experience in their most recent organization. "Jack of all trades" within the IT department.

You will work collaboratively with other engineers, developers, and operations personnel to ensure the smooth running and high availability of our systems.

Responsibilities

Design, install, configure, and maintain on-premises and/or cloud-based IT systems and infrastructure
Perform system upgrades and migrations, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
Automate routine tasks to improve efficiency
Monitor system performance and identify potential problems
Document system configurations and procedures
Provide technical support to internal users
Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and industry best practices

Qualifications

Most recent employer needs to be a small to midsize organization (maximum of 500 employees)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on cloud-based and on-premises systems and infrastructure
Experience with Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Workspace (AWS), and VMWare vSphere or other cloud providers. Linux & Windows
Experience with operating systems (Windows Server, Linux)
Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
Experience with cloud platforms
Proficient with Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, OpsGenie, BitBucket)
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
