TAB Consultancy Services LLC is seeking several 'Senior Network Engineers' to support the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT), State Highway Administration (SHA), the Office of Information Technology (OIT) project.

Responsible Duties:

These Senior Network Engineers shall perform the following duties:

Responsible for the design and implementation of large data communications or telecommunications networks. Plan and monitor the installation of communications circuits.
Manage and monitor local area networks and associated equipment (e.g., bridges, routers, modem pools, and gateways). Conduct short and long-term plans to meet communications requirements.
Responsible for the design and implementation of Local Area Network (LAN) / Wide Area Network (WAN) using hub switching and router technology. Perform hardware/software analyses to provide comparative data of performance characteristics and suitability within the existing systems environment.
Prepare tradeoff studies and evaluations for vendor equipment. Generate network monitoring/performance report, for LAN/WAN utilization studies.
Recommend network design changes/enhancements for improved system availability and performance.

Preferred Experience:

At least five (5) years of experience in the following technical areas:

Senior level experience working in a network and IT systems environment, including protocols (TCP/IP), equipment and services (DNS).
Planning, designing, implementation, and analyzing data or telecommunications networks.
Network analysis/management tools and techniques.
IT technology and long distance and local carrier management.
Managing Personal Computers (PCs) in a client/server environment.

Education:

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related scientific or technical disciplines. If applicable, shall be certified as a network engineer for the specific network operating system as defined in the State task request. The certification criteria are determined by the network operating system vendor.
Nine (9) years of experience in a computer-related field.
Seven (7) years of progressive experience in planning, designing, implementing, and analyzing data or telecommunications networks. Must have experience with network analysis/management tools and techniques and be familiar with Personal Computers (PCs) in a client/server environment. Must be familiar with IT technology and long-distance and local carrier management.
