World Relief seeks a Good Neighbor Team Coordinator to be a pivotal part of our mission at World Relief Texas to support refugee families as they rebuild their lives. In this exciting role, you will spearhead the creation and management of Good Neighbor Teams, groups of dedicated volunteers who provide essential support and friendship to refugee families. You will recruit, train, and inspire volunteers, equipping them to offer practical assistance and foster meaningful relationships with those we serve. Your efforts will be crucial in helping refugee families navigate their new environment, access vital resources, and feel welcomed in their new community. By coordinating volunteer activities and ensuring smooth communication between teams and families, you will help create a network of care and support that transforms lives. Role & Responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate the Good Neighbor Team (GNT) program in support of the work of World Relief Texas (WRTX)
Build partnerships with local area churches to lay groundwork for GNTs o Work closely with the Church and Community Engagement Team, specifically the Church Mobilizer, and church partners to recruit, screen, train, supervise, and support GNT volunteers
Communicate with WRTX resettlement staff (caseworkers, housing coordinator, employment team, etc.), U.S. ties, and immigrant participants to collaboratively match with trained GNTs
Facilitate communication and trainings between WRTX staff, GNT volunteers and program participants
Schedule regular debriefs with GNT volunteers, church partners, and clients throughout entire process (6 months) of relationship building, volunteer training, matching, active volunteering, and off boarding to ensure meaningful experiences for both volunteers and clients
Ensure appropriate communication is happening between the team leader(s) and WRTX resettlement specialist throughout GNT term
Operate as a resource and mediator for volunteers and participants, referring them to internal or external resources and services, as appropriate, or supporting through challenges
Provide volunteer appreciation and recognition
Maintain up-to-date records of volunteer information, hours and activities, reports; enter data regularly into database, and ensure all PII security protocols are followed by staff and volunteers
Train GNT volunteers to accurately and regularly report activities with input from resettlement specialists
Maintain current and relevant training materials for GNTs, updating the curriculum as needed
Work with WR program staff to creatively adapt the GNT program as needed, collaborating with other WR U.S. offices to share resources
Assist the Church Mobilizer and other CCE members with general volunteer orientations, events, community engagement and program activities o Maximize use of World Relief’s e-learning platform “the Workshop” to develop learning pathways for churches and volunteers
Assesses potential risks and liabilities of volunteer activities and behaviors, elevating to the supervisor when necessary
Train and coach experienced GNT volunteers to be Good Neighbor Ambassadors for World Relief to see multiplication of GNTs

Programs and Services Collaboration:
Attend joint departmental meetings to share input on client adjustment and integration, and to better guide volunteers in assisting to meet programmatic and missional goals.
Participate in national volunteer staff working groups on a periodic basis

Strong written and verbal communication English
Experience working with churches and comfortable with public presentations
Demonstrated ability to solve problems in an efficient, calm manner.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate logistics
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines with a limited degree of supervision.
Must have the ability to work under pressure with flexibility in a virtual or in-person team setting

Self-motivated worker with the ability to problem solve and demonstrate initiative
Previous experience with volunteer management and training development preferred
Experience working or volunteering with refugee or immigrant communities strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and sensitively with people of diverse cultural and religious backgrounds
Strong computer knowledge, including MS Office and the ability to learn new programs
