Position: Security Engineer
Permanent / Direct Hire
Location: NE Portland, OR. Starting out fully on-site, then will shift into Hybrid (3 Days Onsite/2 Remote)
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 3-4+ years of experience as a Security Engineer or Analyst
- 2+ years of Managed detection response experience (MDR, such as Red Canary)
- 2+ years of Email Security Experience (proof point, barracuda, Mimecast etc.)
- 2+ years of Anti-Virus/Anti Malware Security experience (McAfee, etc.)
- Experience in a Microsoft Shop working with Active Directory, Domain Architecture, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, etc.
- O365 security alert experience
- Ability to work with senior leaders in the organization, perform presentations when needed
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Scripting Experience: PowerShell preferred Hypervisor Experience (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.) CISSP, CRISC, or CCNP Certification
JOB DESCRIPTION
A client headquartered in Portland, Oregon is looking for a Security Engineer/Analyst to join their team! This a Direct Hire/Perm position and in this role is hybrid. In this position you would report directly to the CIO and help make security based decisions for the organization. You would also be the eyes and ears for this organization in terms of anything involving security: for example, being connected to the security community and knowing certain trends/incidents that have been public to help educate senior leaders. The organization has an Infrastructure, Helpdesk, and Application Development team, but have realized the need to add a Security Resource to their organization. In this position you will also interact with business leaders, understand business processes, put together presentations, and help inform leaders on security best practices with quarterly metrics. Some of the security items you will handle is working with the Application Development team to ensure they are building new applications with security in mind, and looking at applications and finding out if there is any current security issues. In this position you will also take control of the security platform, and handle/communicate any types of event alerts, and security incidents. You would also work with the Network/Infrastructure team to ensure they have a strong firewall policy, logging of network traffic, etc. If you are passionate about security and want to join a great team, this could be a great fit for you!
