BGSF has a great opportunity for a Systems Administrator with our healthcare client in Nashville, TN. This is a 6-month contract to permanent position.
The System Administrator III serves as an expert for IT and is responsible for effective technical design, provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure in order to provide complex and comprehensive solutions for the enterprise. They will ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to the organization’s mission and values.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide networking, system support, and maintenance for both hardware and software on both clients and servers.
- Have technical knowledge of: Enterprise Operating Systems; Windows infrastructure; Virtual platforms; Local Area Network administration; Office 365 Management including Exchange Online, Compliance, and Security; SAN and NAS storage management.
- Maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature, and user abuse by ensuring privacy, security, and regulatory compliance best practices are adhered to.
- Manage security tools such as firewalls, web filters, AV, and SLAM.
- Responsible for installing, configuring, testing, updating, administrating, monitoring, maintaining, and basic troubleshooting of all hardware, software, networking, virtual and physical servers, enterprise operating systems, and technology tools.
- Provide general system administrator tasks (manage end user accounts, permissions and access rights, file and print servers, etc.
- Backup and archiving management of all corporate servers. Adhere to procedures and programs for backup and restoration of enterprise data.
- Maintain documentation about the current enterprise setup, work and requests, asset and system inventory, security, and records of service.
- Maintain Data Center and server room environments including physical machines, server racks, cable management, documentation, labeling, and KVM management.
- Maintain vendor and contractor relationships.
- Provide after-hours support for infrastructure related emergencies as well occasional weekend maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related area) preferred. Work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Windows Server 2016
- Office 365
- Group policies, permissions, file servers
- 3 years of experience as a System Administrator; managing systems, software, and support; with increasing responsibility.
- Advanced professional certifications such as Microsoft MCSA, Cisco CCNA, Linux RHCSA, or VMware VCA are preferred.
- Extensive experience with virtual platforms, LAN/WAN networks, SAN and NAS storage systems, Microsoft and Linux operating systems, Microsoft domain infrastructure, and data backups/recovery.
- Knowledge of security best practices and system vulnerabilities.
- Experience managing enterprise level AV, web and email filtering, and monitoring systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing, are required for supporting employees with a varying range of computer competencies.
- Hands on experience, with the ability to complete tasks independently, in the areas of project management, documentation, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws such as HIPAA. Professionalism with administration of confidential information is required.
- Prior healthcare experience preferred.
