Our client, a well-regarded healthcare organization, is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join their IT team. Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Design & Management: The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining secure and scalable server systems for both enterprise and cloud environments. This includes ensuring the high availability and performance of the organization’s healthcare applications.
- System Monitoring & Performance: The engineer will utilize advanced monitoring tools such as Dynatrace and Datadog to continuously track system performance and ensure proactive troubleshooting and resolution of any potential issues.
- Cloud Integration & Services: With a focus on Microsoft Azure, the candidate will manage cloud-native services, ensuring seamless integration between cloud and on-premises infrastructure to support healthcare operations.
- Load Balancing & Traffic Management: The role involves configuring and managing Citrix NetScaler (or equivalent) to handle load balancing and traffic management, ensuring systems can efficiently scale to meet demand.
- Automation & Scripting: A key aspect of the role will be automating system tasks using scripting tools like PowerShell, Bash, or Python to streamline backup, deployment, and system maintenance operations.
- Collaboration & Capacity Planning: The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and plan for future infrastructure scalability, ensuring efficient use of resources and long-term performance optimization.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: This role requires expertise in enterprise-level backup solutions and disaster recovery planning to ensure the integrity and continuity of critical systems.
- On-call Support: The Senior Systems Engineer will participate in after-hours maintenance activities and provide on-call support for tier-1 systems to ensure uninterrupted operation of healthcare services.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Healthcare IT Experience: The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a healthcare IT environment and be familiar with the regulatory requirements (such as HIPAA) that govern healthcare systems.
- Advanced Monitoring Tools: Proficiency with Dynatrace, Datadog, and other system monitoring and performance optimization tools is essential.
- Load Balancing: Experience with Citrix NetScaler or similar load balancing technologies is highly preferred.
- Cloud Expertise: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and the ability to manage and optimize cloud-native infrastructure.
- Operating Systems Expertise: Proficient in managing and troubleshooting both Windows and Linux server environments.
- Automation & Scripting Skills: Advanced skills in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation and system management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in infrastructure server administration or 7 years in infrastructure server engineering.
- Experience working in highly available, mission-critical environments.
