We are seeking a dedicated Systems Administrator to manage and maintain critical IT infrastructure across both warehouse and office settings. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with VMware, phone systems support, and a wide array of IT systems. This role involves supporting virtualization, networking, phone systems, and general IT operations to ensure seamless performance in a mixed environment of warehouse and corporate office locations.
Key Responsibilities:
VMware Administration:
- Manage and maintain VMware environments, including deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting virtual machines and hypervisors.
- Perform routine health checks, performance tuning, and capacity planning for virtual environments.
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies for virtual infrastructure.
Phone Systems Support:
- Provide support and maintenance for VoIP and PBX phone systems across the organization.
- Manage phone system configurations, including call routing, voicemail, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve escalated phone system issues and ensure optimal uptime.
Network and Server Management:
- Configure, monitor, and maintain servers, both physical and virtual, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Manage networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls) in both warehouse and office environments.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and implement security protocols.
Warehouse IT Support:
- Provide specialized IT support for RF scanners, warehouse management systems (WMS), and other warehouse-related hardware and software.
- Ensure warehouse technology systems are optimized for efficiency and minimize downtime during operational hours.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly.
Office IT Support:
- Support desktop and laptop systems, printers, and office-related technologies.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and resources in Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
- Provide timely technical support for office staff, troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement and maintain security policies, including firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices for system security, data integrity, and disaster recovery.
- Conduct regular audits of systems to ensure data protection and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
Collaboration and Documentation:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, to support the technology needs of both the warehouse and office environments.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in system administration, including VMware and phone systems support.
- Experience with VoIP and PBX phone systems.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
- Proficient in supporting Windows Server and Active Directory environments.
- Familiarity with RF scanner support and warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and SCCM for desktop management.
- Familiarity with managing IT infrastructure in a warehouse environment.
- VMware certification (e.g., VCP) or similar credentials.
