Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our cybersecurity team as a Junior Cybersecurity Analyst. The Junior Cybersecurity Analyst will assist in safeguarding our organization's systems and data against cyber threats by monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents. This is an entry-level position suitable for candidates with foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles and a strong desire to learn and grow in the field.
Responsibilities:
- Security Monitoring and Analysis:
Monitor security systems and tools for potential threats or anomalies.
Analyze security events and alerts to identify and investigate potential security incidents.
Assist in conducting security incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Vulnerability Management:
Assist in identifying and assessing vulnerabilities in systems and applications.
Support in prioritizing and remediation efforts based on risk assessment and severity of vulnerabilities.
- Security Operations Support:
Assist in maintaining and updating security controls, policies, and procedures.
Participate in security assessments, audits, and compliance activities.
Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and attack techniques.
Contribute to the analysis and dissemination of threat intelligence to enhance security posture.
- Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents, investigations, and remediation activities.
Assist in preparing security reports and metrics for management and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field preferred
- Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, including network security, encryption, authentication, and access control.
- Familiarity with common cybersecurity tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, antivirus, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
- Understanding of basic networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+ is a plus.
- Previous internship or coursework in cybersecurity is preferred but not required.
