Required Skills & Experience
- Experience with more than one (1) server operating system and internetworking between operating systems; e.g., Microsoft's Disk Operating System (MS- DOS), and its Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, and 2003 server family of operating systems, its Exchange family of electronic mail systems, and its SharePoint system; UNIX; and Virtual Memory System (VMS).
- Ability to write scripts in some administrative language, e.g., Practical Extraction and Report Language (PERL), Win Script, or other scripting applications.
- Experience with complex transport control protocol/internet protocol (TCP/IP) networking protocols, e.g., Windows Internet Naming Service (WINS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), VPN, UNIX, Domain Name Service (DNS), Point to Point Protocol (PPP), Serial Line Internet Protocol (SLIP), and VMS.
- Experience with and ability to appropriately configure Redundant Arrays of Inexpensive Disks (RAID).
- Thorough understanding of and experience in the Open System Interconnection (OSI) model.
- Install, configure, modify, update, upgrade, and troubleshoot various internetworking hardware and software including, but not limited to, production and test hubs, routers, switches, bridges, firewalls and VPN devices in a LAN/WLAN/VPN environment.
- Eliminate excess connections, clean-up current cables, and label essential drops in the communications rooms. Remove hubs and other network equipment no longer being used in the communication rooms.
- Maintain library of current scripts, software media, licenses, and documentation.
- Develop and maintain documentation on network administration processes, e.g., current network diagrams, copies of device configurations, and standard operating procedures for tasks required in this PWS. To include a hard copy.
- Troubleshoot and resolve LAN/WAN connectivity problems.
- Perform, maintain, and document Disaster (Contingency) Recovery Procedures, e.g., maintain system disc integrity, perform backups and fail-over tests, monitor system performance, and conduct capacity planning and general troubleshooting.
- Create and maintain all Medical Group user accounts in Active Directory.
- Install all Microsoft and other software vendors critical security patches on all servers as applicable.
- Support cell phones (iOS devices, etc.) management and establish, disable, and transfer accounts, etc.
