Security Engineer- ONSITE in Columbia, SC

SYSTEMTEC is seeking an IT Security Engineer with extensive hands-on experience in network infrastructure, security software/hardware, incident response, and IDS/IPS.

Required Qualifications Of The Security Engineer

Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
Must be comfortable with 100% ONSITE work in Columbia, SC.
Ability to pass extensive FBI background check.
Extensive (5+ years) of hands-on experience with network security firewalls, proxies, intrusion detection, incident response and escalation, security policy articulation, and compliance
DLP and Web Filtering systems
Virtual private networks and remote access systems; public key infrastructure, encryption, and digital certificates; and distributed denial of service attacks
Effective communication- both verbal and written- and interpersonal skills.
Security Industry Certifications HIGHLY desired.

Responsibilities Of The Security Engineer

Serve as Security SME and assists the Director of Information Security in evaluating and selecting new information security software and hardware.
Ensure that information security functions are completed in accordance with established policies/procedures/standards, government regulations, and emerging security alerts.
Provide operations and engineering support for critical security systems and services, including firewall, IPS/IDS, endpoint security, computer forensics, vulnerability/penetration assessment/mitigation, and security event management (SIEM).
Recommend, schedule, and perform maintenance/upgrades on security systems to minimize impact to members and employees.
Reviews security logs daily. Analyzes, responds to, and remediates security incidents or suspicious activity.
Develop, maintain, and update information security policies, procedures, and processes.
