Director of Business Development and Marketing
Overview
Phoenix Technologies was the first independent firmware provider and has been pioneering firmware innovation since 1979 with nearly a billion units installed worldwide. Phoenix designs, develops, and secures firmware for a wide range of computing devices including computers, laptops, servers, IoT, and other advanced computing platforms and devices.
Phoenix has over 180 patents and copyrights in the firmware space and deep industry partnerships with companies such as Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, and Arm. Additionally, Phoenix participates in a broad spectrum of firmware and firmware security organizations such as the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface Forum (UEFI), the Trusted Computing Group (TCG), and the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).
Phoenix is headquartered in Silicon Valley (Campbell, CA) with a global presence and primary engineering teams based in the US and Taiwan.
Location
- On site requirement 3-4 days per week in Beaverton, Oregon and 1 week per quarter in Campbell, Ca (expenses covered).
Responsibilities
- Business Development/Product Management (and some marketing) for a new product at the cutting edge of cyber security (www.firmguard.com)
- Identifying new market segments and opportunities.
- Attracting new clients in these market segments by learning their needs and working with the engineering team, innovating and assisting with product management and the sales process.
- Working with senior team members to help Phoenix achieve its strategic goals
- Researching opportunities in new and existing markets
- Preparing and delivering pitches and presentations to potential new clients and to senior management
- Working in a collaborative environment for the business as a whole
- Communicating with clients to understand their needs and offer solutions to their problems
- Creating positive, long-lasting relationships with current and potential clients
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience (with at least 3+ yeas as a leader) in the Enterprise marketing/business development space – ideally with some cybersecurity experience. Leading a small marketing team, building channel partnerships, lead generation and business development for an exciting new cybersecurity product. Must be capable of leading by example and closing business relationships directly.
- The ideal candidate will possess a broad knowledge of the target customer segments and each of the functional areas under their direction. Other characteristics that are critical to success include the ability to demonstrate strong leadership, promote and develop business, effective communication and writing skills plus superior selling skills. They will possess the ability to effectively relate to and manage their direct reports, key decision makers and senior management within the target customer segments. The position has global responsibility, but main initial focus is the US.
