Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Network/Firewall Engineer with specialized experience in WatchGuard Firewall systems to join our team on a 3-month contract basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in network engineering, particularly in the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure with a focus on firewall management using WatchGuard technologies. This position requires both technical expertise and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, configure, and maintain WatchGuard Firewall systems to ensure the security and integrity of the network infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance and security measures, identifying and addressing potential vulnerabilities and threats.
- Collaborate with other team members to implement network security policies and procedures in alignment with organizational objectives and compliance requirements.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify risks and implement necessary controls and configurations.
- Troubleshoot network and firewall-related issues, providing timely resolution and support to minimize downtime.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to network configurations, policies, and procedures.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in network security and firewall management.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members and other stakeholders as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a Network/Firewall Engineer in designing, implementing, and managing network infrastructure.
- Strong expertise in WatchGuard Firewall technologies, including configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols, security standards, and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring and security tools.
- Familiarity with industry compliance standards such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR, etc.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., WatchGuard Certified System Professional, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), etc.) preferred.
