Description -
Priority in this role is Ruckus network management, ensuring high availability and uptime in a large-scale IT environment. The Network Engineer will oversee various network components, including Ruckus switches, Access Points, Cradlepoint Branch routers, and Cisco Catalyst 1000 series routers. The position reports to the Client Delivery Executive and receives guidance from the Infrastructure Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and troubleshoot Ruckus and non-Ruckus network switches and components for day-to-day operations.
- Administer and monitor the network environment, collecting data for performance and availability analysis.
- Maintain accurate network documentation and resolve issues using the helpdesk ticketing system.
- Manage Ruckus configurations, apply patches, and submit Change Request forms when necessary.
- Collaborate with the team on project tasks, communicate effectively with end-users, and work with hardware vendors for break/fix situations.
- Perform vulnerability investigations and ensure network compliance with standards like PCI and HIPAA.
Requirements
- Current CCNA/CCNP certification or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in multi-site networks supporting 1000+ endpoints.
- Familiarity with ITIL concepts and common network tools.
- Hands-on experience with Ruckus and Cisco Catalyst network equipment.
- Self-driven with a proactive approach to managing the network environment.
- Experience with ServiceNow is preferred.
