Position Summary
The Director of Information Technology shall provide leadership and management to the Information Technology department in its charge to provide, operate, and maintain facilities, equipment, and services to support the goals of the Association. This position is responsible for all aspects of IT Service Management, including supervision of IT staff and Managed Services Provider, product development, solution engineering, budget preparation and management, recommendations for technical acquisitions, and development of guidelines, standards and procedures. The Director is charged with leading the strategic planning, security and compliance, daily operations, and decision-making to fulfill the mission of the IT department.

Organizational Management
• Serve as the primary diplomatic liaison between IT and its stakeholders, most notably the Board of Directors, approximately 23 Chairmen of various committees, as well as the Association’s President, Executive Director, and all organizational departments;
• Provide leadership, vision, and management to the IT department;
• Formulate, propose, and administer the department budget;
• Maintain ITIL principles of IT Service Management;
• Maintain IT Strategic Plan annually to ensure continued alignment with the Association’s overall direction;
• Maintain Security and Compliance policies and procedures are complete, contemporary and practiced routinely;
• Work with administration, staff and MSP to assess and respond to the Association’s IT needs;
• Hold regular departmental meetings to review strategic goals, and tactical initiatives;
• Supervise the ongoing operations of the IT help desk and service desk, providing quality and timely support to stakeholders for hardware and software needs;
• Recruit, hire and manage IT staff, delegate work assignments, conduct performance appraisals, motivate, promote team building, facilitate growth potential through training and opportunities;
• Serve on planning and policymaking committees;
• Ensure audit-readiness based on NIST CSF data protection standards.
Managed Service Provider (MSP)
• Provide for a positive, productive, highly-collaborative and seamless integrated services environment in partnership with a strategic MSP;
• Oversee and manage service level agreements with the MSP;
• Ensure adequate resources are available and customer service demands are met; and
• Contract adherence and compliance with the MSP; Serve as a liaison between the MSP and executives
Hardware and Systems Software
• Maintain infrastructure and applications portfolio to support IT-dependent activities and goals of Association departments;
• Identify emerging technologies to be evaluated;
• Ensure the Association remains modern with respect to information technology, applications and services, including Cloud IaaS and PaaS;
• Oversee the modernization, maintenance and asset management of hardware, software, services and custom applications portfolio throughout their lifecycles;
• Serve as primary contact with outside vendors in the generation of RFPs, bids, contracts, agreements, and other major vendor interactions
Systems Operations and Maintenance
• Maintain the integrity and continual operation of the network and wireless networks • Ensure the continual functioning of critical operations
• Maintain security and privacy of the information systems, communication lines, and equipment.
• Develop, review, and certify all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans
Education & Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field is preferred
• Master's degree in computer science or related field is a plus
• At least 7 years’ experience in IT leadership positions responsible for all aspects of IT including enterprise architecture, solution design and implementation, day-to-day operations, disaster recovery systems and processes, service quality, technology evaluations, applications portfolio management, and project management
• Five to ten years’ experience in related business skills such as staff management and development, written and verbal communications, budget/financial management, contract negotiations and procurement, policy development and compliancy, analyzing business requirements and determining solutions that best-balance demand with capacity
• Three to five years successfully directing a hybrid, Managed Services or full ITO environment
• At least 5 years’ experience working in, managing or consulting across a broad set of enterprise-class technologies, disciplines and services in a predominantly Microsoft-based environment:
o Systems engineering and management
o Network and Telecom infrastructure
§ Cisco-based core switching, routing and firewall
o Cloud IaaS and PaaS based on Microsoft Azure
o Applications Development
o Database Administration
o Commercial applications, productivity suites and middleware:
§ Microsoft SharePoint
§ Microsoft Office 365
§ Microsoft IIS 7
§ Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM a plus
• In depth knowledge of ITIL, ITSM, NST security framework, and SDLC is required • Practical success leading an IT organization and its stakeholders through a transformational period, including impact in areas such as working environment, procedures and culture.
• Strong business communication skills, including technical and executive communication skills
• Ability to remain focused and collected during crisis events
• Ability to simultaneously manage multiple IT capacity and business demands
