POSITION SUMMARY
The Houston Health Foundation (HHF) is seeking applicants for the position of Marketing and Communications Coordinator. The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO, Director of Development, Volunteer Coordinator and program leadership to ensure prompt and efficient communication with all internal, as well as external stakeholders. The position undergirds the organization’s development through the coordination and execution of supportive marketing strategies and compelling communications that advance the organization’s mission and brand.
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is a full-time position responsible for coordinating seamless communications among the foundation team and with external partners. The position contributes to all development and fundraising activities by creating and maintaining appealing messaging and collateral, and driving an engaging social media presence. The coordinator manages event logistics and works closely with the volunteer coordinator to ensure a fulfilling and impactful experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Documented experience on all major digital/social media platforms
· Exceptional organizational and relationship management skills
· Experience with nonprofit organizations
· Demonstrated problem solving skills
· Deep respect and concern for the communities served by HHF
· Confidence, poise, discretion, professional demeanor and good listening skills
· Strong work ethic, self-motivated and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting
· Conversant in Word, Excel, Power Point and Adobe
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Reports directly to the CEO
· Manages all public-facing foundation email inboxes and ensures thoughtful communication as needed
· Composes annual digital/ social media plan
· Plans weekly and monthly social media calendar and creates all social media content that reflects the
impact of the Brilliant Futures programs and honors HHF partners
· Coordinates with contracted graphic designers
· Supports earned media presence through the creation of op eds and press releases; coordinates with the
HHD and other partner media teams
· Maintains marketing collateral and creates new marketing materials as needed in collaboration with the Director of Development and program leaders
· Staffs and supports HHF Advisory Council PR and Marketing Committee
· Interfaces with the HHD/HHF volunteer coordinator to assist in maintaining positive volunteer experiences
· Supports Director of Development and CEO to coordinate successful event logistics
