Calano & Associates is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cyber Application Trainer to join our team. The Penetration Tester will be responsible for training The United States Marine Corps (USMC) on assembling next gen information systems and utilizing cybersecurity tools such as 7-Zip, Amazon Correto, Burp Suite Pro, Crowdstrike, Encase Forensics, FireEye HX, Flying Squirrel, Mandiant FLARE, FreeIPA, Splunk, Ghidra, IDA Free, Kali Linux, and Zeek and more. Deliver training to enhance the skills and knowledge of The United States Marine Corps (USMC). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cybersecurity, Penetration testing and industry best practices.

Curriculum Development:
Design and develop comprehensive training materials, including presentations, exercises, and assessments, covering various aspects of the NexGen information system.
Stay updated with the latest Cybersecurity tools (Spunk, Palo Alto, Security Onion, and Zeek), and trends in software development to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of training programs.
Training Delivery:
Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions for USMC Cybersecurity professionals, both in-person (Columbia, MD; Camp Lejeune, NC; Camp Pendleton, CA; Okinawa, Japan) and virtually, to impart knowledge and foster skill development.
Adapt training delivery methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and skill levels within the audience.
Mentorship and Coaching:
Provide one-on-one mentorship and coaching to USMC Cybersecurity professionals, to support their professional growth and development on the NexGen information system.
Offer guidance and support in resolving technical challenges and overcoming obstacles encountered during the training and demonstration of the NexGen information system.
Evaluation and Feedback:
Assess the effectiveness of training programs through participant feedback.
Continuously iterate and improve training materials and delivery methods based on feedback and evaluation results.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including USMC leadership, and subject matter experts, to identify training needs and develop tailored programs.
Qualifications:
Active Security Clearance (Secret, TS)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Extensive experience in Cybersecurity, tools such as: 7-Zip, Amazon Correto, Burp Suite Pro, Crowdstrike, Encase Forensics, FireEye HX, Flying Squirrel, Mandiant FLARE, FreeIPA, Splunk, Ghidra, IDA Free, Kali Linux, and Zeek and more.
Proven track record of training users on a new information system.
Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish credibility with diverse audiences.
Certifications in CISSP, CISM, Network+, Security+, desired.
