Job Description
ISmile Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer with extensive experience in Private Cloud, Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), or Pivotal Cloud Foundry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, deploying, and maintaining Kubernetes clusters, developing CI/CD pipelines, and automating infrastructure provisioning. This role requires a savvy communicator capable of navigating internal infrastructure resources and articulating high-level concepts to stakeholders and leadership partners.
Responsibilities
- Azure-Based Solutions: Design, implement, and maintain Azure-based solutions ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
- Networking Strategies: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement networking strategies that optimize performance and reliability.
- Containerized Applications: Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes (AKS) and Docker.
- IaC Automation: Utilize Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.
- CI/CD Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions and GitLab Runners.
- Zero Downtime Deployment: Implement and optimize zero downtime deployment strategies to minimize service disruptions during updates and upgrades.
- Disaster Recovery: Design, implement, and test disaster recovery (DR) solutions to ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or disasters.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud infrastructure and applications for performance, cost, and security.
- Stay Updated: Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices in cloud computing, DevOps, and automation.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 14+ years as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar role.
- Cloud Services: Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and infrastructure. If no Azure experience, must have Private Cloud/PCF experience.
- Kubernetes: Proficiency in designing, deploying, and maintaining Kubernetes clusters across multiple environments.
- CI/CD: Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment using GitHub Actions, GitLab Runners, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
- Service Mesh: Experience implementing and managing Istio service mesh for microservice architecture.
- Infrastructure Automation: Expertise in automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
- Containerization: Strong experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Monitoring and Logging: Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar.
- Networking: Solid knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and VPC.
- Zero Downtime Strategies: Familiarity with zero downtime deployment strategies and techniques.
- Disaster Recovery: Experience designing and implementing disaster recovery solutions.
- Certification: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) is a big plus.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with strong communication and collaboration abilities.
