Role: System Engineer
Location: Foster City, CA OR San Francisco, CA
Role Summary
Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing System requirements, Test cases, Test Automation & Power Train systems issue RCA support for an autonomous vehicle.
The role requires a highly motivated and hands-on team player with an exceptional attention to detail. The role will suit an Engineer who has the ability to quickly develop skills in new areas and liaise with other engineers within a multidisciplinary team.
Area of Responsibility
The System Engineering team is responsible for the Developing New requirements, test cases, Test automation and Issue RCA support, to support Shift Process implementation to have a strong approach towards PREVENTIVE ACTION methodologies. The responsibilities of the Systems Engineer will include the following:
Developing system requirements
Technical documentation creation/updation (specifications, FMEA, software requirements, etc.)
Develop and execute test cases for HIL & SIL testing, leveraging models, simulation, and bench environments to validate system functionality, performance and safety.
Test Case automation (Python scripts). Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for HIL and SIL testing, ensuring efficient and repeatable testing processes
Issue RCA support i.e Log analysis, identifying system requirements & Test procedure Gaps etc
Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to discuss requirements and test cases coverage to ensure alignment of HIL activities with project timelines & milestones.
Timely task delivery in line with project timing plan
Knowledge / Experience
Experience in a systems engineering, or electronics role; ideally in automotive industry,
Experience in working EV systems,
Experience of the Systems Development Lifecycle (V Model); writing system requirements, defining test cases and writing test procedures,
Experience working on Low Voltage and High Voltage systems
Ability to produce formal documentation to a professional standard,
Core competencies in CANalyzer, CANape, FMEA, DVP&R, HIL, Automotive Diagnostics, Python and PyTest Framework
Execute test cases for HIL & SIL testing
Python and PyTest - test is required
Knowledge of vehicle diagnostics
Good skills on requirements traceability and Polarion Software Organized, systematic and understands the process of fault finding,
Desirable
Experience with Powertrain Systems & HV systems,
Understanding of vehicle level system integration in terms of hardware and software
Should be expert in CAN, LIN, Ethernet & Python tools.
