Project Description: Build and maintain AWS infrastructure that enable most of our technology footprint to run. Responsible to managing lifecycle of the infrastructure and optimizes to improve stability, minimize incidents and response times, while reducing costs.
Position Summary/Job Description
- Design and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure to support Best Buy applications and services.
- Implement best practices for cloud security, monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud solutions into existing systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
- Stay updated with AWS services, features, and industry trends to recommend improvements.

What are the top five skills and number of years of experience required to perform this job?
- 12+ years of proven experience as a cloud engineer with a focus on AWS.
- 5+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- 5+ years of experience with Configuration Management such as Chef and Ansible.
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and scalability concepts in cloud environments.
- In-depth knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, etc,
- Effective collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for cloud related incidents and emergencies.
What are some preferred/nice to have skills the manager is looking for?
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as AWS CloudWatch/Splunk.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for CICD pipelines.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and software development life cycle (SDLC).
- AWS certification (e.g AWS solution architect)
