Primary Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management:
- Provision and configure new virtual servers in a virtual environment.
- Manage and maintain virtual servers, ensuring they run efficiently and securely.
- Oversee software applications running on Unix, Linux, VMware, VxRail, and Broadcom appliances.
- Handle software and firmware associated with server hardware, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Oversee Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP server functions, ensuring seamless authentication, authorization, and network configuration.
Cybersecurity Issue Remediation
- Address cybersecurity vulnerabilities identified by penetration tests and other assessments.
- Apply remediations to harden systems and mitigate potential risks.
- Collaborate with the security team to prioritize and manage security-related tasks.
- This duty exists within both the operations and infrastructure domains.
Technical Skills Required
- Provisioning and configuring new virtual servers in a virtual environment.
- Managing and maintaining virtual servers and related software.
- Expertise with Unix, Linux, VMware, VxRail, and Broadcom appliances.
- Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other server functionalities.
- Strong documentation skills, particularly in creating clear and concise documentation in English.
- Proficiency in monitoring and optimizing server performance.
- Ability to handle upgrades, migrations, and integration of new technologies and platforms.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and tools.
- Familiarity with VMware NSX and Aria tools.
- Experience in supporting and managing Active Directory and associated domain controller systems.
- Expertise in automation and scripting for server management tasks.
Experience Required
- A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in implementing and maintaining virtualized systems and networks.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience with VMware infrastructure.
- Proven track record in managing server environments, including Unix, Linux, VMware, VxRail, and Broadcom appliances.
- Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and related server functionalities.
Role Structure And Flexibility
- The consultant will not oversee any team members but must be prepared to step in and cover tasks for staff during absences.
- The role allows for two days of remote work per week after an initial assessment period, subject to demonstrated reliability and performance.
