Position Title: Information Technology Specialist
Reports To: IT & Special Project Manager
Location: Brentwood, TN
As an IT Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our IT infrastructure. Reporting to the IT & Special Project Manager, you will work collaboratively with the NPS team to ensure seamless operations, tackle emerging challenges, and assist in the implementation of IT policies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide first-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person, resolving hardware and software issues promptly and efficiently.
· Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, hardware, and software applications.
· Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues, ensuring seamless communication across the organization.
· Set up and configure new user accounts, including email accounts, and provide basic training on system usage.
· Perform routine system updates, patches, and antivirus/malware scans to ensure the security and optimal performance of IT infrastructure.
· Document and maintain accurate records of hardware inventory, software licenses, and IT-related procedures.
· Assist in the implementation of IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with security and data protection standards.
· Stay informed about the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to contribute to continuous improvement in the IT environment.
· Collaborate with other IT team members on projects and initiatives to enhance overall system functionality and efficiency.
· Provide technical support for audio-visual equipment, video conferencing, and other collaboration tools as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
· Experience with Active Directory or Azure
· Strong understanding of basic IT concepts, including hardware, software, networking, and security principles.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users.
· Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS) and productivity applications (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
· Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and customer-focused approach.
· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
· Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+ or similar, would be a plus.
HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience with organizations that provide direct care or services to clients/patients living with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
· Experience with organizations that provide direct care or services to clients/patients who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community.
o Currently has or is willing to acquire foundational knowledge about key concepts and terminologies relevant to the LGBTQ population, including but not limited to pronoun usage, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identities, and intersectionality of multiple identities.
