Our initial focus is on developing software as a service, with a focus on web applications, in the Real Estate space. Description of Role:
We're working on our first venture - a unique digital, AI assistant for Real Estate. This highly differentiated cloud application combines elements of Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, to create an engaging mobile experience for Real Estate agents and their Clients, particularly first time and luxury home buyers.
This product is among the first of its kind in the industry, and has global applicability. Because of this nascent nature, this role will be expected to contend with the realities of developing an early stage product, learning to deal with ambiguity, and work on a team to discover and deliver value to customers. To be successful, you'll need to operate with a balance of curiosity, tenacity and practicality.
So what does that mean, in practical terms?
Key Responsibilities:
- As the first engineering hire, you'd be a key influence on the Product Development culture and processes.
- Collaborate with Product to understand the problem space, develop prototypes, demonstrate progress, and iteratively build solutions.
- Negotiate scope, communicate it, and operate against a plan.
- Develop software using Agile methodologies such as Kanban, or Scrum.
- Design and implement well thought out system architectures, in a structured, iterative manner.
- Document code, interfaces and decisions.
- Ensure quality through regular testing and QA cycles.
- Communicate status, blockers, progress and wins, in a remote first culture.
- Research and propose solutions, evaluating tradeoffs and risks.
- Move on to Engineering Manager responsibilities as we grow the team with more junior and/or external resources.
Required Skills
- We like to work with Python, JavaScript, PostGRES, GCP, Gemini/Open AI models, GitHub
- Document code, interfaces and decisions.
- Ensure quality through regular testing and QA cycles.
- Communicate status, blockers, progress and wins, in a remote first culture.
- Research and propose solutions, evaluating tradeoffs and risks.
- Experience building and scaling CI/CD pipelines, building and managing environments, and basic DevOps practices.
- Ability to design and build re-usable API's and services.
- Demonstrated history of Engineering Management, including scoping, planning and managing deliverables across multiple team members.
- Highly adept at finding appropriate memes, and bringing a finely tuned sense of humor to the team.
Nice to Haves
- Experience with integrating and deploying Machine Learning and AI models.
- Experience with cost modeling and forecasting of infrastructure needs.
- Experience with developing and implementing cybersecurity models at the appropriate level of risk for company stage.
