Azure IT Security Engineer
Summary
Stratus Technology Services is seeking an Azure IT Security Engineer to join our clients Azure Engineering Sprint Team to help us protect their cloud infrastructure and applications from cyber threats. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring security solutions for their Azure environment, as well as conducting security audits, assessments, and incident response. This role is a Security Role embedded within the Cloud Engineering Team.
Responsibilities
- Provide recommendations and/or design improvements to promote automation, cloud hosting, and security in everything mindset.
- Ability to contribute to the development of automation code (Terraform, ARM, Bi-Cep, PowerShell, Ansible, etc.) to ensure security requirements are included / represented in the companys standard patterns.
- Perform code reviews to identify and address security vulnerabilities in the infrastructure code. Conduct regular assessments to ensure compliance with security requirements.
- Assist / Offer solutions to remediate security incidents and breaches in a timely manner in alignment with IT Security Operations Team.
- Use Security Auditing tools and processes to independently review patterns and services deployed in the companys Azure Tenant to ensure deployed assets are in line with the most current and updated security controls.
- Provide security guidance and support to Azure developers and engineers.
- Stay updated on the latest Azure security trends, threats, and solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in IT security, preferably in a cloud environment.
- Strong knowledge of Azure security services and features, such as Azure Security Center, Azure Key Vault, Azure Firewall, Azure DDoS Protection, etc.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, PowerShell, Bicep, Ansible, and Azure CLI preferred.
- Certifications in Azure Security Technologies (AZ-500) or Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-303 and AZ-304) are preferred.
- Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
