Genesis10 is seeking a Cloud Security Architect for our client in the Financial Services Industry. This is a Hybrid (2 - 3 days in office) Contract opportunity located in Irving, TX 75063.

Description:
Cloud Security Architect with a deep understanding of network security to join our growing IT team. You'll play a pivotal role in safeguarding our cloud environment by designing a robust security posture and implementing best practices across various aspects. This includes crafting a secure perimeter network, defining granular network traffic rules, securing APIs, and segmenting the network for enhanced protection. You'll also be responsible for configuring security detection and monitoring tools, hardening infrastructure components, and ensuring our cloud is resilient against denial-of-service (DoS) and distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a secure perimeter network architecture within the cloud environment.
- Define comprehensive and granular network traffic rulesets to control and monitor network activity.
- Design and implement network segmentation strategies to isolate workloads and minimize attack surfaces.
- Configure and manage cloud-based security detection and monitoring tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS) for continuous threat vigilance.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive security posture encompassing infrastructure, data, and application security.
- Design and implement hardened images, containers, Kubernetes clusters, and endpoints to minimize vulnerabilities.
- Configure and implement cloud-based DoS and DDoS mitigation strategies to ensure service availability.
- Develop and implement robust API security measures, including authentication, authorization, and encryption.
- Stay up to date on the latest cloud security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
- Collaborate with developers, IT operations, and other stakeholders to foster a security-conscious culture within the cloud environment.
- Clearly communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with a strong focus on security.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Cloud Security Architect or a similar role with a proven track record in network security.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud security best practices and risk frameworks (NIST 800-53 and SOC 2).
- Extensive experience with network security concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and network segmentation techniques.
- Proficiency in configuring cloud-based security tools like SIEM, IDS/IPS, and cloud security services offered by major providers (AWS Security Hub and Azure Security Center).
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible to automate security configurations.
- Solid understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and security considerations within containerized environments.
- Experience with API security principles and best practices (authentication, authorization, encryption).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
