System Engineer Level 6

Seeking a System Engineer 6 to be part of a talented team focused on developing solutions to innovate mission-critical systems and applications. Those interested in this position should be comfortable with change and learning new technologies, as this opportunity is focused on finding innovative solutions to our customer’s toughest challenges. This is a hands-on, systems engineering position requiring experience in the following: Cloud Engineering, VMware, Linux & Windows, DevOps, Containerization & Orchestration, Systems Integration, NiFi, Splunk, Elasticsearch, Kibana and Cyber Threat Intelligence. Experience supporting efforts involving Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning is a definite plus. If a candidate one or two of these requirements, then they would need to be interested and willing to train and research to pick up the new technologies as quick as possible.
Security Clearance Requirements:
This position requires all candidates to be U.S. Citizens and possess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with a Polygraph.
- Providing technical oversight.
- Overall design and integration.
- Working with the program team to build business processes.
- Assessing hardware/software selections.
- Validating compliance and cross-organization integration.
- Evaluating technical feasibility of solutions derived from customer requirements.
- Identifying environmental, technical, and policy constraints.
- Validating adherence in product deliverables.
Required Education & Years of Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus twenty (20) years of systems engineering experience OR
- A High School Diploma or GED plus twenty-four (24) years of general systems engineering experience (any Process Area) OR
- A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus eighteen (18) years of systems engineering experience OR
- A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus eighteen (18) years of systems engineering experience.
*Note 1 - Examples of Qualified engineering fields include: Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management.
*Note 2 - Examples of related disciplines include: Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, and Physics
Required Skills
- Experience supporting cloud-native systems
Desired Skills
- Experience managing or working as part of Agile development teams.
- Familiarity with DevOps concepts.
- Familiarity supporting large-scale distributed systems.
