CrowdStrike is seeking a Director, Engineering for our Cloud Security Runtime Protection team. This critical role in the organization will be responsible for leading the charge on building innovative solutions leveraging Crowdstrike’s world famous sensor, capture data from millions of sensors deployed in sensitive environments and enable sophisticated security detections across a wide variety of workloads. You will be going deep into the internals of Kubernetes, containers, functions and a variety of modern assets in the world of cloud infrastructure. You will help drive and deliver on the technical strategy and roadmap and will be responsible for mentoring the team. CrowdStrike is growing rapidly and you will be instrumental in the hiring, retaining and growth of our world class engineers. You will work cross functionally with your peers in the engineering organization as well as leaders in sales and product. Your impact is not bounded and you will be enabled to engage and collaborate with various teams and ensure your product’s success. We are a remote first company so you must bring your excellent verbal and written communication skills to bear when you are working with your engineering teams and cross functional teams across the globe.
What You'll Need
- Experience leading teams of senior and junior engineers
- Ability to code in languages such as C/C++ or equivalent
- Demonstrated track record of building a strong core engineering team and engineering team management
- Deep understanding of Linux and it’s internals
- Proven ability to build security products in Linux space
- Familiarity with eBPF
- 10+ years of software engineering experience in all phases of a software development lifecycle
- Broad grounding in all aspects of distributed systems development: understanding of distributed systems concepts
- Solid design and problem solving skills with demonstrated passion for engineering excellence, quality, security and performance
- Strong cross-group collaboration and interpersonal communication skills working with a variety of roles including engineering, product management, support and sales engineering
- Experience working with remote teams and individuals while ensuring agility and code velocity
- Ability to communicate and articulate crisply at all levels from executive staff to engineers
Bonus Points
- Understanding of Kubernetes and its role in cloud computing
- Familiarity with cloud computing and deployment of software in the cloud
- Solid grounding in the technology of at least one cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments
- Machine learning and data science familiarity and hands on experience
- Exposure to/experience with cybersecurity and intelligence
