We are seeking a Linux-first Cloud Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our cloud-based environments to ensure high availability, security, and scalability. This role involves working closely with our development and IT teams to support our cloud infrastructure's ongoing needs.

Responsibilities
- Administer and manage cloud-based infrastructure services, including compute, storage, network, and security components.
- Implement and maintain cloud security best practices, including managing IAM roles, security groups, and ensuring data protection.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure efficient operation of cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with development teams to automate and streamline operations and processes for deploying and managing applications in the cloud.
- Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
- Stay current with industry trends, make recommendations for improvements, and participate in the planning and implementation of new cloud technologies.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders regarding cloud infrastructure and related technologies.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in system administration, with a focus on cloud environments, preferably AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in setting up Linux (Ubuntu) based server environments, including Apache, MySQL, and OpenVPN.
- Strong understanding of cloud services, networking concepts, and cloud security principles.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for the automation of tasks and operations.
- Advanced experience with Docker, including containerization of applications, managing Docker images, and orchestrating containers using Kubernetes or similar technologies to enhance deployment processes and environment consistency.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively internally as well as with customers.
- Experience setting up VMware and integrating SSO systems such as ADFS, Okta, SAML is a plus.
- Proficient in using software configuration management tools such as Puppet for automating server setup and management.
- Strong experience with version control systems, particularly GitHub, to manage code changes and collaboration.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is a plus.
