Vice President – Business Development
Job Description
We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Vice President – Business Development to help us expand our clientele, particularly in the Federal Healthcare space. Your primary role will be to seek new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential customers, using an effective sales strategy. You must have strong relationships at the agency (HHS) level and will leverage your contacts and existing relationships in the HHS/healthcare sector to drive sustainable financial growth through increased sales and strong relationships with clients and business partners.
To succeed in this role, you should have a proven track record of developing leads from marketing campaigns and meeting sales quotas. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will cultivate strong relationships with customers and business partners from first contact until contract award. Additionally, you will collaborate to ensure your client insights and marketing dialogue are effectively integrated into proposal responses.
Responsibilities
- Market Analysis and Strategy Development
- Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
- Develop specific strategies to expand our presence in the US Government, primarily in the Federal Healthcare space.
- Business Development
- Actively pursue and secure new business opportunities through proactive outreach and networking.
- Build and maintain relationships with US government agencies, contractors, and decision-makers.
- Attract new clients by innovating and overseeing the sales process.
- Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as viable sales opportunities.
- Contract Negotiation:
- Lead negotiations with potential clients to secure contracts and agreements.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations and procurement processes throughout the sales cycle.
- Pipeline Management:
- Manage and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities and sales prospects.
- Utilize CRM systems, SharePoint and other tools to track progress and report on sales metrics.
- Own the sales lifecycle from prospecting to proposal response.
- Partnership Cultivation:
- Develop business partners to offer comprehensive solutions to clients’ needs.
- Client and internal Communication
- Understand client needs and offer tailored solutions to their business problems.
- Prepare and deliver pitches and presentations to potential new clients and business partners.
- Arrange meetings or calls as appropriate between prospective clients and Zenius executives.
- Assist in proposal responses based on your client solution marketing insights.
- Industry Knowledge and Networking
- Stay current with new IT developments in the market and explore how Zenius’ services can align with these new offerings, such as AI.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to expand network and visibility.
Requirements And Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related IT field (MBA preferred).
- Proven track record of success in business development and sales within the US government sector, minimum 10+ years of experience.
- Strong understanding of government procurement processes and contracting vehicles (e.g., GSA Schedules, IDIQ contracts).
- Proven experience as a business development manager or sales executive with a successful sales track record.
- Deep understanding of market trends and IT developments.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
- Oral and written proficiency in English, and strong time management and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners.
- Demonstrate a strong motivation and drive to achieve results in all responsibilities and initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Established network and relationships with key government agencies and contractors.
- Experience in selling technology solutions, professional services, or complex systems to government clients.
- Certifications related to government contracting (e.g., CPCM, CFCM) are a plus.
