Description:
We are seeking a Sr. RHEL Linux Systems Engineer.
This role involves managing and maintaining RHEL systems, ensuring operational continuity, and conducting vulnerability assessments.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with RHEL, VMware ESX, and Satellite for patch management.
Additionally, the role includes some support of Windows servers and workstations and participating in an on-call rotation.
Duties:
Operational Continuity: Ensure daily operations run smoothly, prioritize tasks to meet customer requirements.
Communication: Provide timely, accurate, and comprehensive updates to management, on-site counterparts, and customers.
SLA Adherence: Strictly adhere to SLAs, ensure the team is aware of deadlines and targets.
Documentation: Ensure timely and proper knowledge documentation.
Vulnerability Assessments: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments for Linux systems.
Patch Management: Manage patch deployment and ensure timely updates.
Mitigation Strategies: Analyze vulnerabilities and develop effective mitigation strategies with the team.
Reporting: Maintain detailed records and prepare vulnerability reports.
Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate vulnerabilities in RHEL-based systems and applications.
Regulatory Compliance: Manage critical systems in a heavily regulated environment.
Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Windows Support: Provide support for Windows servers and workstations.

Server Deployments: Physical and virtual RHEL server deployments and support.
Patch Management: Patch management via Satellite.
Multi-Factor Authentication: Implementation of Multi-Factor Authentication using RSA.
SMTP Relay: Implementation of SMTP Relay.
Additional Tasks: Handle other tasks and projects as they arise to support the team and organizational goals.
Skills:
RHEL Administration: Proficient in RHEL 6/7/8/9 with strong skills in administering VMs using VMware ESX.
Patching Expertise: Well-versed in patching processes, techniques, and mechanisms, including the use of Satellite for patch management.
Network Configuration: Experienced in configuring LDAP, DNS, NTP, DHCP, NFS, static routes, and Samba.
User and Security Management: Skilled in managing user accounts, security, rights, disk space, and process monitoring in Red Hat Linux.
Storage Management: Proficient in implementing and administering Linux-based storage managers such as LVM.
File Systems: Knowledgeable in file systems like EXT2, EXT3, XFS, UFS, OCFS, OCFS2, and other journaling file systems.
Windows and Active Directory Support: Experience in supporting Windows servers, workstations, and Active Directory.
Education & Experience Requirements
Batchelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
