Network Engineer - Wilmington, North Carolina
DISHER is partnering with a nuclear fuel producer in Wilmington, North Carolina to fill their Network Engineer position. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing the local and wide area networks of an organization to ensure maximum uptime for users. You will design system configurations, installation, and documentation of a new network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary.

What you will get to do:
- Design and implement new network solutions for improving network efficiency
- Implement effective network security measures
- Maintain computer networks including VPNs, routers, switches, and other network infrastructure
- Install and configure network equipment including firewalls, routers, switches, and other network related equipment to maximize network efficiency and security
- Manage firewalls and network security systems to keep data and communications protected
- Maximize network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
- Arrange and schedule upgrades, patches, and firmware updates for network devices
- Report network status to management personnel
- Maintain current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems
- Document any changes to IS networks
What will make you successful:
- Active DOE/NRC Q-clearance or equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree with 4-5 years of prior related experience in technical field, preferably Information Technology or any of the Engineering fields or Graduate Degree with 2-3 years of prior related experience
- Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process
- Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process
- Comprehensive understanding of network services and networks such as TCP/IP, OSPF, VOIP, and EIGRP
- Understanding of Black Core Routing
- Knowledge of RADIUS
- Comprehensive knowledge of network security practices and policies such as NIST SP 800-171 and NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5
- In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking systems such as firewalls, network routing, and switching
- Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues, and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently and securely
- Ability to design, implement and troubleshoot WLAN and security infrastructure
