Corporate Real Estate is responsible for managing the Real Estate infrastructure and related business processes to support our FFRDC goals and our sponsors' mission outcomes. We develop and maintain a physical infrastructure and supporting business processes to effectively enable MITRE’s Good Growth strategy and empowering our staff to act as the connector.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for proactively managing Corporate Real Estate's sites operational functions ensuring productive workplace environments with a focus on partnering with business leaders to successfully meet their needs.
- Advisor to key leaders with respect to facilities strategy and services for short- and long-term solutions.
- Develop relationships with appropriate leaders to fully understand their business strategies and expectations to achieve greater mission impact.
- Recognized as the primary point of contact and trusted advisors for the business leaders with regard to Corporate Real Estate Site Services. Responsible for leading an Integrated Real Estate Management (IREM) matrix driven organization in support of strategic execution.
- Strategic relationship management
- Budget and fiscal spend approval

- Long term capital planning
- Lead the development and deployment of a “Best in Class” corporate real estate and occupancy strategy for the Campus/Sites, with the support of the occupancy planning team.
- In partnership with MITRE’s Director of Corporate Real Estate, oversee MITRE’s IREM outsource service provider for services provided to assigned Campus/Sites.
- Partner with Cushman & Wakefield to ensure Sites projects and programs are successfully implemented.
- Provide input to and administer the annual capital and operating-expense budgets.
- Accurate and timely reporting of critical incidents.
- Make informed decisions by leveraging a broad understanding of MITRE’s work programs.
- Play a key role in developing solutions that support corporate strategic initiatives that fosters innovation, knowledge sharing, speed, adaptability, and risk taking.
- Translate strategic business requirements to inform facility decision and coordinate a successful location strategy.
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 10 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 7 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- A demonstrated leader with over 10 years’ experience in property and lease management, construction, capital improvement, and project management.
- Experience in managing a varied portfolio of projects that include geographically separated Class A office buildings, laboratory facilities and SCIFs.
- Successful people manager with strengths in communication, networking and relationship building.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, and implement an Improvement Plan, Program Management, and Construction Contract Administration.
- Excellent organization and communications skills; verbal, written, and presentation.
- Ability to assess needs, analyze and solve problems.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in software programs, to include AutoCAD, SharePoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Word.
- This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Intelligence Community Directive 705
- Understanding of Critical Path Methodology
- Familiarity with CSI MasterFormat Divisions
- Aptitude for cost control and value engineering initiatives
