Link Solutions, Inc. is seeking a
Virtualization Infrastructure Senior SME (Subject Matter Expert) to join our team in Sierra Vista, AZ.

The
Virtualization Infrastructure Senior SME will provide information technology services and support for the US Army Regional Cyber Center program responsible for operating, managing, and defending the Army’s NIPRNet and Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) CONUS portion of the GIG, and the NIPRNet and SIPRNet DoDIN-A.
The candidate will oversee the design, implementation, management, and optimization of an organization's virtualization infrastructure. This role requires deep technical expertise in virtualization technologies and the ability to lead and guide related projects and initiatives.
These responsibilities require deep technical expertise in virtualization technologies, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage complex projects in a dynamic IT environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the design, architecture, and capacity planning and forecasting of the organization's virtualization infrastructure, including server virtualization, desktop virtualization (VDI), and network virtualization.
- Develop and implement scalable, high-availability virtualization solutions that meet the organization's performance, security, and business continuity requirements.
- Collaborate with IT teams and business stakeholders to align development strategies with organizational goals and seamless integration with other infrastructure components.
- Support the deployment, configuration, and management of virtualization platforms, such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix XenServer, and other related technologies.
- Ensure proper configuration and monitor the performance and health of hypervisors, storage, and networking components to optimize performance, reliability, and resource utilization across the virtualized environment.
- Implement security best practices, conduct vulnerability assessments and audits, and ensure virtualization infrastructure complies with relevant security and regulatory requirements, such as ISO 27001, GDPR, and PCI-DSS.
- Develop, implement, and test disaster recovery plans to confirm they meet organizational requirements and provide backup and replication integrity.
- Develop training and documentation repositories for the virtualization infrastructure, including configurations, procedures, and disaster recovery plans to maintain knowledge continuity and utilization of industry best practices.
- Collaborate with business continuity teams to integrate virtualization into broader business continuity plans.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting for complex issues within the virtualization infrastructure, including VM performance issues, network connectivity problems, and storage failures.
- Act as an escalation point for virtualization-related incidents and collaborate with other IT teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
- Maintain and manage service-level agreements (SLAs) for the virtualization environment, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
- Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools.
- Implement automation solutions, such as VMware vRealize Automation or Microsoft Azure Automation, to enhance the efficiency of the virtualization operations.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to virtualization and share this knowledge within the organization.
- Contribute to the strategic planning of the virtualization infrastructure, including the development of roadmaps for future upgrades, expansions, or cloud integration.
- Evaluate and recommend new virtualization technologies, tools, and approaches to improve the organization's infrastructure efficiency, security, and scalability.

Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- Must have DoD Secret Clearance
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, CompTIA Cloud+, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, or equivalent.
- VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP)
- MCSE: Core Infrastructure, or equivalent. (The current cert is *Microsoft Certified: Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert*: Exam: MS-100: Microsoft 365 Identity and Services and MS-101: Microsoft 365 Mobility and Security).
- IAT Level III Certification required (CompTIA CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, equivalent or higher).
- BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
- Ten (10+) years of directly related experience.
Additional Certification Required: (most have one of the following)
- CASP+: CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner plus
- CCNP: CISCO Certified Network Professional
- CCSP: Certified Cloud Security Professional
- FITSP-O: Federal IT Security Professional-Operator-NG
- GFACT: GIAC Foundational Cybersecurity Technologies
Preferred:
- MA/MS with twelve (12+) years of experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of U.S. Army IT operational and technical requirements.
- Experience leading a large, technically complex organization.
- Demonstrated success and experience managing contractors in a DoD environment, working with Military and civilian leadership, while obtaining mission success and program profitability.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
