Job Title: Director of Risk Management
Job Overview: We are seeking a proactive and experienced Director of Risk Management to lead our risk management function. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to ensure the organization's long-term stability and compliance. You will develop and implement risk management strategies, oversee risk assessment processes, and work closely with senior leadership to safeguard the organization's assets and reputation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management strategy to identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, and strategic risks.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and analyses to evaluate the organization's risk exposure and effectiveness of current risk management practices.
- Create and maintain risk management policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with senior management and various departments to integrate risk management practices into business operations and decision-making processes.
- Lead the development and execution of risk mitigation plans and strategies, including contingency planning and crisis management.
- Monitor and report on risk management activities, providing regular updates and recommendations to senior executives and the board of directors.
- Oversee the implementation of risk management systems and tools to enhance the organization’s ability to identify and manage risks effectively.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, insurers, and regulatory agencies, to address risk-related matters and ensure compliance.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on risk management practices and promote a risk-aware culture across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MS) or professional certification (e.g., FRM, CRM) preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in risk management, with a proven track record of managing complex risk environments and leading risk management initiatives.
- Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and prioritize risks effectively.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with senior executives and influence decision-making.
- Proficiency in risk management software and tools, and advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present risk management information and recommendations clearly to diverse audiences.
