IT Manager
Nisbet Brower is a reputable building material supply company that values safety, reliability, and professionalism. We are seeking an IT Manager. The IT Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our network, managing IT resources, and leading IT projects to enhance the efficiency and security of our technology environment. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
Responsibilities include:
- Network Administration:
- Design, configure, and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), wireless networks, and VPNs.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure network availability and reliability.
- Manage firewall, routers, switches, and other network devices, ensuring security protocols are in place and updated.
- Conduct regular network performance testing, security audits, and vulnerability assessments.
- IT Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, storage solutions, and backup systems.
- Ensure all IT systems, including hardware and software, are updated, secure, and operating efficiently.
- Manage cloud-based services and infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to maintain hardware, software, and network services.
- Technical Support:
- Provide Level 2/3 technical support to resolve complex IT issues for end-users and ensure minimal downtime.
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, and backup.
- Maintain IT documentation, including network diagrams, configuration records, and system specifications.
- Leadership & Project Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure team success.
- Plan and manage IT projects, including network upgrades, software implementations, and system migrations.
- Collaborate with other departments to assess their technology needs and provide solutions that support their objectives.
- Security & Compliance:
- Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect the organization's data and systems from cyber threats.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including GDPR, HIPAA, or other industry-specific requirements.
- Manage user access and security protocols to safeguard sensitive information.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT management and network administration.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, CISSP) are preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in managing and configuring network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Experience with Windows and Linux server environments, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and security best practices.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity strategies.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership and team management experience, with a focus on mentoring and developing IT staff.
- Project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
