Job Summary/Objective
The ideal candidate for this position has a strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, desktop and server operating systems, virtualization technologies, routinely thinks outside the box to solve problems quickly, and understands what impeccable customer service is about. The Information Technology Manager will be responsible for infrastructure maintenance as well as end user support in the field and over the phone to plant personnel.
Essential Functions
- Handles all purchasing of IT hardware/software/support to maintain adequate supply levels and coverage for hardware/software solutions
- Maintain technology vendor relationships
- Define and maintain department’s budgetary operations
- Negotiate license and contract renewals
- Continually develop and refine IT policies and procedures
- Perform periodic technology audits
- Work with leadership and department heads to plan and implement new technologies to achieve company’s strategic vision
- Oversee utilization and effectiveness of outsourced, third-party help desk
- Ensure SLAs for ticket resolution are met
- Lead the technology team to provide exceptional support to end users
- Troubleshoot and maintain switching infrastructure
- Manage and maintain virtual server environment
- Support infrastructure backup environment
- Provide technical assistance and resolution as necessary
- Set up new computer systems and perform routine maintenance
- Repair computer hardware and servers as required
- Test and implement new software programs for the company
- Develops and maintains software and hardware inventory and tracking systems; develops inventory lists and stocks and stores electronic components
- Develops and maintains internal documentation
- Other IT support duties as assigned
- Ability to provide on call support

Education/Training Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related
- 5+ years’ experience in a technology related field
- Experience with virtualization technologies
- Advanced Networking configuration and concepts (VLAN, VPN, NAT, routing, wireless)
- Experience supporting a Microsoft Active Directory environment
- Strong understanding of Microsoft desktop and server operating systems
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office applications
- Office 365 support experience
Work Environment
- Manufacturing work environment – inside and outside. Will require being in the heat, rain and other elements for short times.
