firstPRO is seeking a skilled Network Support Specialist to provide day-to-day technical support for our customer's Meraki networks. This role involves troubleshooting network issues, coordinating with field technicians and ISPs, and supporting network changes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of networking fundamentals and experience with various technologies. This is a remote position but candidates local to the Philadelphia area are required. This role is a contract to possible hire opportunity and candidates must be open to working second shift hours.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily support for customer Meraki networks, including initial ticket response, triage, and network infrastructure troubleshooting, during the hours of 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in collaboration with field technicians.
- Manage and escalate issues with ISP vendors as necessary.
- Respond to and resolve customer requests efficiently.
- Support network changes, including deploying new equipment and performing code upgrades.
- Work closely with other IT teams to identify and resolve technical problems.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the customer’s technology usage.
- Contribute to the development of standards and operating procedures for IT services.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, standards, and safety commitments.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong knowledge of data networking, including routing, switching, Wi-Fi, VPNs, ISPs, and WAN
- Familiarity with technologies such as Meraki, FortiGate, NetSkope, and Azure.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including LAN switching, OSPF & BGP routing, Wi-Fi, WAN circuits, and site-to-site VPNs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, multi-site organization.
- Willingness to work late nights and weekends as necessary for projects or assignments.
- Relevant certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+.
- Must be open to working a 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM EST Shift
