Position: Privacy Analyst
Location: Hybrid work setup at a specified address in Torrance, CA
Term: Long-term contract
Educational Background:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a similar field, or an equivalent level of professional experience.
Minimum Experience Required:
- At least one year of experience in privacy or business, such as in consumer products/services, with a focus on privacy regulations, legal matters, compliance, data protection standards, or program management.
- Proficiency in organizational and time management, with additional experience in work planning and project management, particularly in an Agile environment, being advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication and advocacy skills.
- Ability to effectively and tactfully communicate with various levels of stakeholders.
- Capability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and programs simultaneously, organizing and scheduling work efficiently.
- Analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and legal research skills are also beneficial.
- A collaborative team player.
Additional Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) is beneficial.
- Flexibility to work in a hybrid model is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations (15%): Privacy Rights Fulfillment
- Collaborate with IT and customer service teams to handle Individual Rights Requests and prepare Data Subject Reports.
- Maintain consumer-data privacy interactions, working with IT to improve user experience and interface.
- Assist with the annual updates and publication of Privacy Notices.
- Privacy Compliance Business Analysis (45%):
- Work with operations and project teams to document privacy-related customer experience flows and requirements, and assist in reviewing designs, testing, and implementing solutions.
- Support the enhancement of privacy controls across company-wide initiatives, including but not limited to, privacy technology tools, loyalty programs, preference centers, and cookie management.
- Promote Privacy by Design by educating and consulting with various business operations teams.
- Privacy Governance (30%):
- Assist in communications for your unit within key governance channels, such as executive steering committees and privacy councils.
- Support the promotion of privacy policies and procedures.
- Handle the documentation of meetings, creation of reports, maintenance of backlogs, tracking of project deliverables, and the logging of requirements, decisions, risks, actions, and issues.
- Compliance Expertise & Education (5%):
- Support the benchmarking of privacy best practices with industry groups and organizations.
- Engage in continuous learning through training and participation in industry resource groups.
