A client of Robert Half is looking to hire an experienced full-time IT Manager / Network Engineer to oversee and manage their diverse and complex IT infrastructure. This role is crucial for ensuring the seamless operation of our systems, applications, and networks across their multiple locations.
In this role, the IT Manager / Network Engineer will be responsible for the effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, applications, databases, security, telecommunications, and related infrastructure. This individual will drive technical research, development, and innovation to support business needs.
Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the infrastructure across all six business locations.
- Define technical needs, benefits, and strategies; perform technical analysis, design, and architecture.
- Configure, test, and roll out solutions for various company locations and departments.
System Administration:
- Implement, configure, coordinate, control, maintain, troubleshoot, and secure systems.
- Administer secure links with public key encryption, anti-virus, user authentication, and intrusion detection solutions.
- Manage LAN, WAN, VLAN networks, including Virtual Networks and Communications.
Software Development and Maintenance:
- Lead software development projects from business requirements gathering through to release management and support.
- Administer and maintain corporate email systems.
Security and Compliance:
- Develop and implement security policies; ensure compliance with IT Security Policies.
- Monitor and respond to IT security incidents and violations.
- Manage system security authentication, including creating customer profiles and accounts.
Technical Operations:
- Perform systems backups, recovery procedures, and updates.
- Write or modify scripts to resolve performance issues.
- Maintain system documentation and logs.
Network and Communication:
- Configure and manage Active Directory, DNS, File Servers, Terminal Services, IIS, SQL servers, and Virtual Machines (VMs).
- Evaluate, set up, and maintain VoIP networks and equipment.
Web and Hardware Maintenance:
- Oversee web maintenance and manage RAID, NAS sub-systems.
- Handle procurement and vendor management.
Vendor and Procurement Management:
- Conduct detailed analysis of business needs and technical environments to provide optimal solutions.
- Manage vendor selection and relationships.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of proven experience in IT management, network engineering, and technology leadership.
- Strong knowledge of system administration, network security, and IT infrastructure management.
- Experience with Active Directory, DNS, SQL servers, Virtual Machines, VoIP, and RAID/NAS sub-systems.
- Proficiency in scripting languages and system troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
