### Position Overview
In this impactful role, you will provide essential support and advocacy to adult victims of sexual assault and sexual harassment. Your work will involve closely collaborating with victims to assess their safety needs, connect them with resources, and empower them throughout their recovery journey. Collaborating with law enforcement, medical professionals, and legal entities will be crucial to ensuring that victims' needs are met and their rights upheld.
### Key Responsibilities
- Provide non-clinical support and crisis intervention to adult victims.
- Inform victims about available reporting options and resources, fostering self-advocacy and goal-setting for their recovery.
- Advocate for victims' interests with law enforcement, medical, and legal services.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify immediate safety concerns and provide necessary support.
- Accompany victims to appointments, interviews, and court proceedings as needed.
- Assist in developing and delivering sexual harassment prevention training programs.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of service delivery in the management information system.
- Offer 24/7 support as part of the organization's SAPR watch bill rotation.
- Work with the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) to coordinate comprehensive victim services.
- Conduct training sessions on sexual assault prevention and response as required.
- Support the SARC in creating and promoting SAPR prevention and awareness initiatives.
### Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and meet federal employment suitability requirements.
- Experience in providing non-clinical support to victims of sexual assault and harassment is essential.
- Familiarity with community resources, social services, and principles of victim advocacy.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse backgrounds.
- Capability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and adept at using management information systems for data entry and reporting.
- Completion of Defense Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program (D-SAACP) is required or a willingness to obtain it.
- A valid U.S. driver's license is necessary, and occasional travel may be required.
