Take2 is seeking an individual who is highly experienced in Active Directory that can help support our mission to help the United States Navy Observatory NTP public and DoD systems over to new stacks. They will also be tasked with helping re-design the active directory environment and migrate the new design at the United States Navy Observatory.
Job Description:
- Design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure system architecture
- Lead and participate in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure components
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies to maximize efficiency and performance
- Troubleshoot complex issues and provide technical support and guidance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of systems and applications
- Create and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for all implemented systems and processes including AD architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and troubleshooting guides
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a System Engineer or similar role with in-depth knowledge of Active Directory architecture, components, and services
- Proficiency in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Active Directory Domain Services, including domains, forests, trusts, and replication
- Experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to manage user and computer configurations across the network
- Knowledge of implementing and managing Active Directory Federation Services for single sign-on (SSO) and authentication across organizational boundaries
- Understanding of Active Directory Certificate Services for managing certificates and encryption within the customer environment
- Strong understanding of Active Directory security concepts, including authentication mechanisms, access controls, and auditing
- Experience in implementing and managing identity and access management solutions using Active Directory
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex Active Directory related issues, such as replication problems, authentication failures, and performance bottlenecks
- Experience in monitoring Active Directory performance and metrics and implementing optimizations to improve system reliability and efficiency
- Expertise in designing network infrastructure, storage solutions, server configurations, and virtualization environments
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.)
- Experience in deploying and configuring operating systems (Windows, Linux) and ensuring interoperability between different components of the IT infrastructure
- Proficient with scripting and automation tools (PowerShell)
- Knowledge in several third-party products and how they integrate with and utilize Active Directory
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex infrastructure issues
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Knowledge of security best practices, threat detection, and mitigation strategies to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data
