Description
We are on the lookout for a Network Administrator in the Wholesale Distribution industry. This role is based in Bolingbrook, Illinois and offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. The Network Administrator will be responsible for remotely collaborating with onsite technicians to upgrade the network stack, including wireless access points, switches, firewalls, and server racks. This role involves working from home and guiding technicians through the process via phone or video calls.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with onsite technicians to upgrade network stack including wireless access points, switches, firewalls, and server racks.
- Provide guidance to technicians through phone or video calls.
- Apply creativity in troubleshooting obstacles that may arise during the upgrade process.
- Handle the installation/movement of devices within a rack.
- Utilize network device-based skills (as opposed to portal and administration-based skills).
- Demonstrate awareness and troubleshooting skills in subnetting and IP schema.
- Show commitment to the role by foregoing vacation or time off during the deployment window.
- Ensure access to reliable home internet for smooth communication and execution of tasks.
- Use Microsoft tools and computer hardware effectively.
- Leverage skills in Aruba, Racking, IP Subnetting, and Meraki to perform tasks efficiently.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Network Administrator in a Wholesale Distribution industry
- Proficiency in managing and maintaining Microsoft operating systems and platforms
- Comprehensive knowledge of Computer Hardware, including troubleshooting and repair
- Familiarity with Aruba networking solutions is essential
- Experience in Racking and stacking network devices
- Strong understanding of IP Subnetting
- Expertise in managing Meraki devices and networks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound judgments
- Must have a relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage
