JOB SUMMARY:
The Network and Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting our IT network and systems infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the reliability and security of our systems, supporting end-users, and implementing network solutions to enhance overall performance.

This position reports to the Director of Operations
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate of Science degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent plus one to three (1-3) years’ experience in a system administrator role either full time or as an intern.
- Five or more years’ experience in a system administrator role is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and security practices.
- Proficiency in operating systems (Windows Server, Linux distributions) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with accounting software and basic understanding of accounting principles and HR regulations is preferred.
- Experience with SQL database programming. Knowledge of other database programming desirable.
- Experience with Ignition software a plus.
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, MCSE) are highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Network Administration:
- Design, configure, and maintain local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs).
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Implement network security protocols to safeguard data and ensure compliance with security policies.
- Maintain ITAR registration and data security.
- Manage firewalls, VPNs, switches, and routers.
- Perform light computer repairs (hard drive, motherboard, etc.) as required.
System Administration:
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and server applications.
- Perform regular system updates, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
- Monitor system performance and optimize resources to ensure efficient operations.
- Maintain software licensing and document management systems.
- Manage phone and communication systems.
- Manage security camera and building access systems.
User Support and Management:
- Provide technical support to end-users and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with company policies.
- Conduct training sessions for staff on system usage and best practices.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, system changes, and support requests.
- Prepare reports on network performance, system status, and incident response metrics.
Collaboration and Projects:
- Work with IT team members to develop and implement IT projects and initiatives.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements.
- Work with customer’s IT department to integrate production machinery into their production environment.
- Provide assistance to our service call center during peak times and lunch coverages.

WORK CONDITIONS:
Physical Environment:
- Sitting at a desk for extended periods
- Using computers, printers, fax machines and other common office equipment
- Communicating regularly with other internal administrative staff

- This role may involve exposure to noise, dust, and various types of equipment.
Safety:
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols at all times, ensuring a safe work environment for oneself and colleagues.
- Report any safety hazards, incidents, or concerns to supervisors promptly.
Work Schedule:
- Hours: 4/10 hours days Monday – Thursday; 7am – 5:30pm with 30-minute unpaid lunch. Flexibility is allowed with written permission. Regular business hours are common, but occasional flexibility might be necessary to accommodate urgent procurement needs or system breakdown.
