U.S. Ski & Snowboard is seeking a Vice President of Technology.

Summary / Objective
The Vice President of Technology for U.S. Ski & Snowboard will report to the CAFO to lead and drive key technology best practices as well as move the organization forward with technology initiatives. This leader will oversee the IT and Dev Team leading, assessing, mentoring and supporting team members to ensure daily operations are handled timely and appropriately. This leader, with proactive leadership, will help identify new systems or streamline existing systems for more efficient operations for our sports and organization.
Responsible for the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures; conducts research, analyzes data, and makes recommendations regarding operational problems; assists with the preparation and administration of the technology budget; maintains and monitors appropriate budgetary controls; develops and implements a short and long term information technology plan; and designs and implements new and revised systems to ensure effective and efficient services.

Roles & Responsibilities
Organizational Excellence
- Lead and implement the technology strategy to align work with the overall mission and values of the organization, resulting in innovative, best practices and policies that will service the full range of U.S. Ski &Snowboard’s technology needs and help build a high-performing culture of success, accountability, transparency, and collaboration.
- Provide leadership and guidance in all aspects of the Information Technology support and the development cycle.
- Provide effective communication involving staff and key stakeholders to identify needs and evaluate business solutions.
- Assist project managers in setting schedules for new technology adoption.
- Advise senior management on how products and processes could be improved.
- Create standardization of software adoption in the enterprise.
- Conduct design reviews and lead design/architecture reviews.
- Develop technology policies, procedures and guidelines. Provide annual training on these policies.
- Oversee and manage all of the service and support operations. This includes workstation support, CRM, asset management and training.
- Lead cyber security, business continuity and disaster recovery for the organization.
- Oversee and manage enterprise infrastructure.
- Evaluate and implement appropriate Operating Systems, Microsoft, Linux, VMWare, and Cisco access controls.
- Evaluate and implement cybersecurity solutions including endpoint detection and response, network detection and response, firewalls, remote access and access controls.
- Manage and oversee, troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, disaster recovery, business continuity and provides expert support when necessary.
- Supervise application development with internal staff and consultants. Utilizing the process of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to meet business needs.
- Proactively manage resource allocation and maintain a competitive approach to recruiting and assimilating high-potential talent. Advise on programs and processes to enhance talent attraction, retention, development, and succession.

Competencies & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related major is required.
- 8-12 years experience in transformational IT leadership with a minimum of 3-5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Demonstrated success as a technical manager for a group dealing with complex technical challenges.
- Demonstrated success at cultivating strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and creating partnerships at all levels within the organization to achieve results.
- Preferred experience building applications with Java and PHP development tools as well as Object Oriented Design.
- Preferred experience in SQL and data modeling skills, as well as real-world experience with commercial RDMBS.
- Five to ten years of experience in the areas of network architecture and application development management.
- Hold relevant industry certifications.
- Excellent communications skills - written, verbal and interpersonal. An ability to tailor communication style to diverse audiences.
- Proactive, high energy and great at multitasking. Able to roll up sleeves in area of expertise.
- Ability to successfully work under pressure and handle multiple highly sensitive issues and manage competing priorities.
- Drive initiatives with limited resources and roll-up your sleeves attitude to achieve desired results.
