Job Description:
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of our company's IT infrastructure. You will play a key role in ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the information systems that support our organizations core functions. This role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to system management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, servers, and applications in both physical and virtual environments.
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability of IT systems.
- Perform regular system maintenance, including software updates, patches, and security enhancements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control according to company policies.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect data, systems, and networks from potential threats.
- Backup and restore data, ensuring the integrity and availability of critical information.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and changes for future reference and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with other IT staff to plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
- Support disaster recovery planning and execution to minimize downtime and data loss in case of emergencies.
- Assist with the development and enforcement of IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Provide technical support to end-users, resolving issues related to systems, software, and hardware.
- Stay current with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve the IT environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) for automation and task management.
- Experience with network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and hybrid cloud environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity.
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Red Hat Certified System Administrator) are a plus.
